Copy-Kids, Eat Fruit and Vegetables is a unique, creative, and empowering video geared towards children who are six months to five years of age. Copy-Kids, Eat Fruits and Vegetables was born conceptually when founder, Cai Dixon, noticed that her young daughter was more willing to eat fruits and vegetables after she saw other children eating them. When Dixon realized that her daughter would try different fruits and vegetables, after seeing other children eat them, she busily got to work creating what is now a very simplistic, yet affective visual tool for parents to use- The Copy-Kids, Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD.
Packed full of adorable children in various ages, Copy-Kids, Eat Fruits and Vegetables is divided into 12 chapters. Each chapter represents a different fruit or vegetable, which shows multiple children eating said fruit or vegetable in unscripted scenes. The video is realistic and true to life, almost like reality TV but for children (there is no hair pulling or screaming going on in this video!). My own daughter, age 2 is now obsessed with this DVD. I can now attest to the fact that children who watch other children do things on TV, is a very intriguing and motivational concept.
In additional to all the adorable children munching on fruits and veggies, Copy-Kids, Eat Fruits and Vegetables features an interview with renowned pediatrician Jay Gordon MD, FAAP, author of Good Food Today, Great Kids Tomorrow. This interview of course, is more for the parents than it is for the children, and goes to show you how versatile a learning tool this DVD is.
Copy-Kids, Eat Fruit and Vegetables was selected as one of the 10 Best Audio/Visuals for 2011 by Stevanne Auerbach aka Dr. Toy, won the Prestigious MACT Excellence Award, is Parent Tested/Parent Approved, and was approved by the USDA and added to the Education and Training Materials database for pre-school nutrition! My son def has days where he hates eating veggies. I have had to get super creative with the presentation of them-like baking them into croissant rolls with a little sprinkled cheese or mixing a veggie in with a fruit smoothie. Some days tho we completely miss the veggie mark
We LOVE: Brocoli, zucchini, peas, onion, corn, spinach and cucumber. The child DISLIKES: cauliflower, or veggies presented in raw form for the most part. We want to try beets and kale. We will be making Portuguese Kale Soup this winter which should go well!
Yes-my 4 year old hates to eat veggies, it is always a struggle.
My oldest loves carrots and is very good about trying new veggies where as my youngest always fights us on it.
This DVD looks awesome!
Mydaughter hates avocados and cauliflower , but loves apples, edamame and peas!
Things are getting better now, but my daughter has never liked most veggies!
Vegetables are always a struggle have to come up with new ways to be creative.
I try to addn new veggies along with the kids favs so this DVD may help me find new combinations to try. Thanks for hosting!
We love our veggies in our house. This is a great combo!
My kids are not big fans of vegies but my daughter loves fruit
my kids like carrots, strawberries & grapes – that’s about it! I’d like them to try some greens – broccoli, beans, salad!
My girls always loved veges but of course they had their favorites. Now we’re getting prince used to his veges and so far so good!
My son is all about fruit, my daughter will eat veggies in stir fry only. Sigh . . .
